Family Photo Sessions

Fall is upon us, which means I'm getting calls to book family photo sessions.  I'm putting this post together to give all those kind souls that call me an idea for some locations.  I'm starting up north in  Weber County and working my way down to Salt Lake.  These photos are from the past three years.

Ogden Railroad Bridge

This is a great spot to get a lot of bang for your buck.  There is the railroad bridge and tracks, a grassy field with trees & an industrial warehouse all in one spot.

    Ogden's Historic 25th Street & Union Station

A great spot for urban backgrounds

      Ogden Botanical Gardens

Beautiful vegetation provides a gorgeous natural backdrop

      Benches of the Ogden Mountains

K, I'm kind of cheating on this one because these were all taken at different spots in Ogden and not just one place, but you get the idea.

*Side note on the picture above:  I was asked to Photoshop the gentleman on the left into the picture.  This is NOT an easy thing to do, and after hours of editing this is what I came up with.

Abandoned Gas Station in Plain City

      So cool.  'nuff said

Oak Lawn Park in North Ogden

This is a small park with a nice wooded area

        Fort Buenaventura in Ogden

This is a pretty cool spot that has a bit open spaces, large pond, bridge and dirt pathways

      •  Peach Orchard in Pleasant View

Best for small groups or individuals

        Kayscreek Parkway in Layton

        Wide grassy fields

       Kaysville Botanical Garden

This location offers bridges, stone walls, gravel paths, a pond & a corrugated steel wall

        • Bird Refuge in West Layton

Wood plank walkways surrounded by tall reed grass make for really unique photo

        • Lagoon Trail in Farmingon

A tree-surrounded trail ideal for fall color

The Capitol Building in Salt Lake

White marble as far as the eye can see provides a clean background for photos.  This is also a great spot for middle of the day light since there are huge skylights in the rotunda.

        Wheeler Farm in Salt Lake

A variety of small buildings provide a lot of options as well as the beautiful natural surroundings.  Be warned that they do charge a photographer's fee.

Gardner Village in Salt Lake (fee required)

Another eclectic location with a variety of buildings and backdrop options.

Park Ward Building in Salt Lake

Lots of interesting little spots including a pond, bridge, brick walls & unique architecture

        Memory Grove in Salt Lake

          Client's Choice

I am totally open to going to any location you choose and in fact, I welcome it!  Here are a few pics from locations of the client's choosing:

      • So there you have it.  Hopefully this gives you an idea of my work as far as family portraits go.  Thanks for stopping in!
